The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that advocates on behalf of Black women and girls. Since 1970, our members have worked as change agents to influence policy that promotes gender equity in Health, Education, and Economic Empowerment.

Advocacy Commitment:

Within the Southern Maryland Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., our members are distinguished leaders in their fields, known for their advocacy, integrity, and unwavering commitment to empowering Black women and girls. They serve as pillars of strength, catalysts for progress, and voices of authority within our community, driving positive change and shaping a more equitable future.

Member Commitment:

  • Pays the annual membership fee.

  • Attends more than 75% of General Chapter meetings.

  • Serves on one assigned committee: Health Awareness, Education, Economic Empowerment, or Public Policy & Advocacy

  • Serves on one Standing Committee: Budget and Finance, Fund Development, Membership, Bylaws, Nominating, Technology, Fundraising, Grant Writing, or Communications.

  • Attends and supports at least two local chapter events, projects, and/or programs annually.

  • Adhere to chapter bylaws, code of ethics, and policy and procedures.

Financial Commitment:

  • Year 1: New Members pay a fee of *$250 upon approval as a member. Fees support induction, orientation, membership materials, national assessment, and induction materials.

  • Year 2: Annual Membership Fee *$250. The amount includes local and national dues for the program year.

  • Attends and supports at least two local chapter events by purchasing and selling tickets, supporting projects, and/or programs annually.

Make & Get Connected Commitment:

  • Follow and fully engage with the Chapter's social media platforms.

  • Promote the NCBW, Inc., Southern Maryland Chapter in a positive manner in the community, and morally uphold the aspiration and goals of the organization.

  • Support all member and volunteer recruitment efforts because collective hands working together can accomplish much.

  • Establish an account with the Maryland General Assemble and actively select and follow state legislation identified on the Chapter's legislative agenda.
